Our course is dedicated to the study of different alternatives in the last 150 years of Russian history  from the abolition of serfdom by emperor Alexander II in 1861 to the recent  Putin-Medvedev “tandemocracy”. The course  consists of 12 lectures/seminars.The class  meets weekly.

8. N. Khrushchev  and his reforms
9. M. Gorbachev – Era of Perestroika.
10. Post-soviet reforms and public discussions  of 1991-93, 1996, 1999.
11-12. Contemporary projects and plans of modernization in Russian politics and social life -  V. Putin and D. Medvedev.
